KartComms Components
On this page we will go over how to get started with all of our components so you are ready for your next race.
Charging & Prep
Before heading to the track, make sure your KartComms system is fully charged.
Charge the communication module using the included USB cable until the indicator shows a full battery. A full charge provides up to 6 hours of runtime, suitable for practice sessions, race days, and endurance stints.
We recommend charging the device the night before your session to avoid interruptions at the track.
When charging the KC-PRO plus button will show red. It will be blue once fully charged.
Once charged, the module is ready to mount and use — no additional setup or configuration required.
Always use the original Charging Cable!
Headset Setup
The KartComms Pro Headset is designed for immediate use with no configuration required.
Slide the KartComms Communication Module into the built-in holder on the headset.
Make sure the module is securely attached by pressing the attachment clip forward until you hear a clear click. This click confirms the module is properly locked in place.
Adjust the headset for a comfortable and stable fit. Ensure the ear cups fully cover the ears and position the microphone close to your mouth for best audio clarity.
Once the module is securely mounted and the headset is worn correctly, the system is ready for communication.

Charging & Prep
Powering On the Module
To power on the KartComms Communication Module, press and hold the small helmet button together with the large KC-PRO button for 3 seconds.
Release the buttons once the module powers on.
Refer to the image on the leftfor button locations.
Resetting the Pairing (Recommended Before First Use)
To ensure a clean connection, we recommend resetting the pairing on all modules before first use.
Press and hold the volume + button together with the KC-PRO button for 5 seconds.
The KC-PRO button will briefly turn purple, then begin alternating between red and blue.
Repeat this step on all modules you want to pair.
Initiating Pairing
Press and hold the small helmet button for 3 seconds on the first module.
The KC-PRO button will begin flickering in a different pattern.
Repeat the same step on the second module.
When pairing is successful, the buttons on both modules will begin slowly fading blue, indicating an active connection.
Reconnecting After Pairing
After the initial pairing is complete, future use is simple.
When powering on your modules, perform a short press on the small helmet button on each module to initiate device lookup.
The modules will automatically find each other and reconnect within a few seconds.
Ready to Use
Once the modules are reconnected and showing a fading blue light, communication is active and ready to use.
Quick Tips for Best Performance
For the best experience with KartComms, keep the following tips in mind:
- Fully charge all modules before race days or extended sessions
- Make sure the communication module is securely attached and locked in place
- Position the microphone close to the mouth for clear voice pickup
- Perform a quick connection check before entering the track
- Avoid covering the module with thick padding or tape
- Store the equipment in a protective case when not in use
Endurance Race Setup
For endurance racing, we recommend using the KartComms system in fixed pairs of two modules.
Each pair consists of:
- 1 module mounted on the Pro Headset (pit lane)
- 1 module mounted on the helmet of the active driver
During Driver Swaps
When changing drivers:
- Remove the module from the Pro Headset
- Attach that module to the helmet of the driver who is about to enter the kart
- After the driver swap, remove the module from the driver who has finished their stint
- Attach that module back to the Pro Headset
This way, each module pair stays linked together, ensuring fast reconnection and uninterrupted communication.
Long Endurance Events (24-Hour Races)
For long endurance races, such as 24-hour events, we recommend rotating paired modules to ensure continuous power throughout the race.
After approximately 4–6 hours, switch to a new, fully charged pair of modules.
Rotating to a New Pair
Follow this sequence:
- Take a new, fully charged paired set of modules
- Mount one module of the new pair on the helmet of the driver who is about to enter the kart
- Call in the driver currently on track
- Once the driver exits the kart, mount the second module of the new pair on the Pro Headset
The previous module pair can then be recharged to full capacity and prepared for the next rotation.
Why This Setup Is Recommended
- Ensures all modules are fully charged before use
- Prevents power loss during long stints
- Keeps communication uninterrupted during driver changes
- Ideal for multi-driver and 24-hour endurance races
This rotation method has been successfully used during full 24-hour endurance events.
